ChainFit - Privacy Policy

TL;DR: ChainFit stores all your data locally on your device. We don't collect, transmit, or sell your personal information. Your fitness journey is yours alone.

1. Introduction

ChainFit ("we," "our," or "the app") is a fitness habit tracking application developed by CyberPeak. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use ChainFit.

By using ChainFit, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

ChainFit stores all user data exclusively on your device using local storage (Hive database and SharedPreferences). This includes:

Workout logs (name, type, duration, exercises, sets, reps, weight)
User profile (level, XP, streak data, earned badges, avatar selection)
Body weight entries
Workout routines
Daily goals and settings
Chat conversations with the AI trainer
App preferences (theme, notification settings, sound/haptic toggles)

We do not have servers. We do not collect analytics. We do not track you. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal identity information (name, email, phone number)
Location data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Usage analytics or behavioral data
Health data from other apps or services

3. Third-Party Services

Google Gemini API (Optional)

ChainFit includes an optional AI coaching feature powered by Google's Gemini API. This feature is entirely opt-in and requires you to provide your own API key.

If you choose to use the AI coach:

Your chat messages and fitness context are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing
If you attach images (e.g., food photos), those images are sent to Google for analysis
Your API key is stored locally on your device
Google's own Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms apply to this data

If you do not configure an API key, no data is ever sent to any external service.

Google Fonts

The app uses the Google Fonts package to load the Inter typeface. On first use, font files may be downloaded from Google's servers. Google's standard Fonts Privacy Policy applies.

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored locally using encrypted-at-rest device storage
No cloud sync, no remote backups, no server-side storage
Your Gemini API key is stored locally and never shared with us
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all stored data

5. Data Export & Deletion

Export: You can export your workout data in CSV or JSON format at any time through Settings > Data.

Deletion: To delete all your data, simply uninstall the app. Since everything is stored locally, uninstalling removes all data permanently.

6. Permissions

ChainFit requests the following device permissions:

Internet — Required only for the optional AI coach (Gemini API) and loading fonts
Notifications — For daily workout reminders (optional)
Camera — To attach photos in AI coach conversations (optional)
Vibration — For haptic feedback on interactions
Schedule Exact Alarm — For precise daily reminder timing
Receive Boot Completed — To reschedule reminders after device restart

All permissions are used solely for their stated purpose.

7. Children's Privacy

ChainFit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since all data is stored locally and we have no data collection mechanisms, this concern is inherently mitigated.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of ChainFit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
